Why you ask? Because I’m a Canadian. After hearing Obama’s speech last night I sort of wish I was an American. Or maybe I wish we had such an inspiring leader. Why is itI feel proud when he is speaking? He is the leader of another country, a country for which I have had little respect for in the last 10 years, but now he’s got me, a Canadian, proud to be neighbors with the US and hoping and wishing that he can make it all happen.
If only our leader, Stephen Harper, could speak in such a way that would make me want to get up and do something great for our country. At this point I have more of an inkling to do something great for the US.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against our leader, but I certainly wouldn’t jump up and fight for him. He may be running the country, and who knows, maybe he is doing a good job, but inspiring – NO…. I think all political figures should take the lead from Obama by cutting out the cr_p, telling it like it is and doing what is right as opposed to what will get him re-elected. I could only imagine what he might have accomplished had he been elected in good economic times, but he wasn’t and he’s got a huge job ahead of him…. I wish him all of the luck in the world.
